MaXXXine | 2024 | Ti West | Mia Goth | movie review
I review the latest film in Ti West's horror trilogy, which features Mia Goth as the central characters of Pearl and Maxine. MaXXXine follows on from the events of X and sees Maxine "Minx" trying to break into Hollywood while a serial killer appears to be stalking her every move. Is she going to let that stop her from achieving her dream of becoming a movie star?

Saving Private Ryan | 1998 | Tom Hanks | Steven Spielberg | movie review
Просмотров 2884 часа назад
I review the 1998 Steven Spielberg war movie, 'Saving Private Ryan', which stars Tom Hanks, Tom Sizemore, Edward Burns and Matt Damon. Nominated for 'Best Picture' at the 1999 Academy Awards, the film lost out to 'Shakespeare In Love', truly cementing the Academy's position as one of the dumbest collection of people on the planet. Having already previously reviewed the 1968 film, Planet of the Apes, giving it a less than favorable score, it came as quite a surprise to me that, upon a recent rewatch, I had no choice but to completely change my opinion on the movie. I review the 2022 horror film, X, which is directed by Ti West and stars Mia Goth, Jenna Ortega and Brittany Snow. Frank Capra's 1934 film, 'It Happened One Night', was the first of only three movies to win the top 5 awards at the Oscars. At the 1935 Academy Awards it took home 'Best Film', 'Best Screenplay', 'Best Director', 'Best Actor' and 'Best Actress'. This feat was later achieved by 'One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest' and 'The Silence of the Lambs'. But does Capra's classic live up to that kind of hype...

I was disappointed too, I was enjoying the film up until the final 20 minutes or so which got way too silly and over the top for me. I would have been okay with the predictably of it if the reveal still had impact but it definitely misses. Still a fun film (gave it a 3.5) but definitely the worst of the 3.

I had a similar experience as your justice league 5 star rating, I loved man of steel, saw it 3 times in the theater. While I still think Henry Cavil is great, the movie just slowly began to sour with me, I think I was just so excited for a superman movie, but I want colorful, hopeful boy scout version of Superman, man of steel actually made my kid cry, my wife was horrified when I showed it to her as well lol

QT has said on numerous occasions he hates it bc the script he wrote is not at all what was portrayed. I agree with most of your points, just think it would've been completely diff movie had Quentin's version actually seen the light of day. Never seen your channel before, enjoyed it, Subbing now. Cheers mate.

My favorite is Pearl, but I liked Maxxxine. I agree the final act is questionable and I had a big problem when the killer was revealed. Overall, there are was a lot going for it and I really liked the references to Bette Davis.

I saw this in 2000, it terrified me of war, being drafted into the army etc... 6 months later 9/11 happened here in America, I was 15 years old, then a few years later people started talking about invading Iraq and I was just old enough to get the selective service paperwork in the mail saying you have to register with the US government to be eligible to be drafted in case you are needed. All I could think about was that opening 20 minutes of this movie and just how much I did not want to go to war. Scared me much more than any horror film ever could. Thanks for the video.

A movie I’ve only ever been able to watch once. I saw it in a theater filled with World War II veterans and during the D-Day scenes, I had to leave. Seeing 80-year-old men crying was just too much. That being said, it is one of the greatest films of all time.

I rewatched this movie last year for the first time in a VERY long time. Outside of the Normandy beach sequence, I had forgotten almost everything else. The acting is terrific, and the film is powerful all around. When the credits rolled, I felt like I needed to cry for awhile, and when I did it was so cathartic. Definitely a four (out of four) star film for me!
